Salute to Our Veterans 5k Run! 

To benefit Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newark's Veterans Initiative supporting local veteran homeownership and veterans at risk of homelessness.

Pre-registation will close at 11 a.m. on Friday November 11th.

Advance registration: $35.00

Registration on race day: $40.00. 

Please note, there is a $7 fee per car for parking at LIberty State Park.

Race will be scored by Rock Race Timing. 

Top Male & Female Awards 1st, 2nd, 3rd. 

Age Awards: 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 +.

Join with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newark to Support Veteran Homeownership

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newark recognizes the service local veterans have provided risking their lives to protect our freedom. In appreciation of their service, we created the “Veterans Initiative” to support veterans in Essex, Hudson, and Union counties.

We help veteran families achieve first-time homeownership and our “Critical Repair and Healthy Homes Program” helps veterans maintain their existing homes by repairing roofs, installing HVAC systems, remediating asbestos and mold, and other costly repairs, so they can remain in the places they call home.

Building hope, one home at a time.

Meet the Mayor!
		Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop will be firing the starting gun. Mayor Fulop, a United States Marine Corps veteran, is a strong supporter of veteran issues including affordable housing. He is a triathlete and also plans to run the race.
Mayor Fulop served in the USMC from 2003-2006, completing his service to the Marine Corps Reserve with the rank of Corporal.
